Sandburg Choir Shines at District X Honors Choir!
Dear Sandburg Middle School Community,
We are thrilled to share the incredible success of our choir students who represented our school at District X Honors Choir this past Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. A total of 23 talented students participated, showcasing their exceptional musical abilities and dedication to their craft.
To qualify for District X Honors Choir, students had to audition back in November, demonstrating their vocal skills by singing a prepared song, a scale (do, re, mi), and sight-reading music they had never seen before. We are proud to announce that Sandburg had more students accepted into the Honors Choir than any other school in our district, a testament to the hard work and talent of our students.
Over the past few months, these students have gone above and beyond, learning six extra songs in addition to their regular choir class repertoire. This year's performance featured songs in English, German, Latin, and even Haitian Creole, showcasing the students' versatility and dedication to musical excellence.
The Sandburg community is incredibly proud of the hard work and commitment these students have shown. They sounded amazing at the concert, and their passion for music truly shone through in every note they sang.
Stay tuned for the YouTube link to the concert, where you can witness firsthand the incredible talent of our Sandburg Choir students. Congratulations to all the participants on a job well done!
