Student Course Schedules

Student schedules will be mailed to families prior to Open House during the first weeks of August.  Families will also be able to pick up a schedule at the event, but it is highly recommended that families bring the mailed schedule with them to the event. Families that are unable to attend, can view student schedules in SIS ParentVue and SIS StudentVue on Thursday, August 15th . Middle School Classes and the Block Schedule

            Middle school students at Carl Sandburg Middle School take 7 courses on an odd/even day schedule.  Students will attend class blocks 1, 3, 5, 7 on odd days, and 2, 4, 5, 6 on even days.  Except for 5^th block that occurs every day for 45 minutes Monday-Friday, all other courses are held every other day for 90 minutes.  

First Day of School

            The first day of the school year is Monday, August 19, 2024.  Student classes will begin at 7:30am.  Students will follow an odd day schedule. Calendar24.25.pdf ​​​​​​​

            Doors open for students daily at 7:10am.  Students should not be dropped off at school prior to 7:10am. 

            Upon arrival to school, students will enter the building and be directed to common areas of the building prior to proceeding to their first class of the day.  7^th Graders will be directed to the small gym, 8^th graders to the large gym, students who eat breakfast at school will head to the cafeteria, and walkers, bikers and car riders will be directed to the auditorium.  Students will transition from these common areas at different times beginning at 7:25 to start their school day. 

            Students will attend grade level first day of school assemblies at the start of the school day where administrators, counselors, and support staff will review common expectations, routines, and procedures with students, so they have a successful start to their school year.
