Ms. Hassen's P.E. classes engage in cooperative learning activities. Ms. Niehbuhr's classes use journaling activities to enhance litearcy and document learning. Panther Pride means coming together as a community! These students are engaged while reading during SSR in Ms. Vacca's class. Mr. Ertekin uses small guided reading and writing groups to teach students about photsynthesis. Sandburg Art students were recognized for their creative submissions at Reagan National Airport, in support of energy conservation. The Builder's Club made blankets for the Linus Kids Foundation. The DIVAS share and discuss their stories during this motivational group meeting. Sandburg Drama students attended a range of informational workshops on their recent trip to New York City! This Social Studies class is taking a Presidential Gallery Walk down Cavalier Highway. These students utilize creative and critical thinking skills to make prototypes for an original invention from recycled materials in Technology Class. Mr. Song's 6th period HPE class is fully engaged in the KanJam activity! Students exhibit teamwork while coaching their peer to solve a problem. These innovative students create no-sew pillows at the craft station in the Makerspace. Sandburg students participate in the FCCLA STAR event. Ms. Jones recognized at the monthly school board meeting. Good job to these students who participated in the all district jazz band! Ms. Larkins and Ms. Zuffi remind us that high expectations equal high achievement!. Future scientists practice scientific drawings in Ms. Marshall's class. West Potomac leadership students visit our HPE classes to share information about making appropriate choices. Staff achievements are highlighted in the Pawsitivity Display Case.
