Dear Panther Family,  

Please join me in welcoming Ms. Patrice Wade to our Sandburg family as our new Assistant Principal. Ms. Wade will join our team as an Assistant Principal for School Improvement, focusing in the areas of English, Language Arts, Literacy, Multilingual Learners and supporting our 7^th graders. 

Ms. Wade brings a wealth of experience to her new role as Assistant Principal. Her educational journey began in Albemarle County Public Schools where she served in various capacities, including instructional assistant, Extended Day Enrichment Program teacher, and site director. After earning her English as a Second Language teaching endorsement, Patrice transitioned to Fairfax County Public Schools.

Her career in Fairfax County has been marked by a strong commitment to multilingual learners. She has held roles as a substitute teacher, Multilingual Learner teacher, department chair, and instructional coach, both at the school and district levels. 

Most recently, Patrice served as an Educational Specialist for Professional Learning, focusing on school improvement in Region 3.  Since 2021, she has worked closely with Sandburg Middle School leadership and teachers, and we are excited to welcome her to our community! 

Ms. Wade will begin her new role at Sandburg on Tuesday, September 3, 2024.
