Ms. DiglioWe are pleased to announce that Ms. Jennifer Diglio has been named the new assistant principal at Sandburg Middle School. Her official start date will be January 26, 2024. 

Ms. Diglio’s diverse leadership and teaching career spans 23 years and she is currently serving as the Dean of Students at Centreville High School. Prior to this role, she was the Region 3 MTSS/ESSER (COVID grant) resource teacher in the Office of School Support and the interim assistant principal at South County Middle School. Ms. Diglio was an IB Middle Years Coordinator and assessment coach at Whitman Middle School, a Systems of Support Advisor (SOSA) at Langley High School, and an online credit recovery teacher at Bryant High School. She started her career with FCPS in 2000 at Robinson High School, where she spent 15 years teaching a diverse fine arts curriculum, including the International Baccalaureate (IB) advanced academic program.

As the Dean of Academics and Intervention at Centreville High School, Ms. Diglio has been focused on the creation of teaming structures through a comprehensive data-driven Multi-Tiered System of Support model to increase communication and support for all learners. With a focus on Tier 1 instruction and behavior strategies for all students Mrs. Diglio is excited to be an integral part of the learning journey with the Sandberg students, partner with the teachers and staff, and cheer for the community at events after the school day is done.

Ms. Diglio holds a BS in Art Education from SUNY New Paltz College and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from George Mason University. 

Ms. Diglio and her husband Tom have three children attending or graduated from Fairfax County Public Schools and have been embedded in our FCPS community for many years.  She is a lifelong equestrian and spends countless hours training, riding and rehabilitating horses, a passion she shares with her children. As a Brooklyn born city dweller, her husband supports them from the ground with countless pictures and videos.  

As assistant principal, she will provide support to our seventh grade students, and supervise our English Learners Department, and Fine / Performing Arts Department.
